Volume Two charts The Mariners rise from the Midland League to the top flight of English football and the glory years of the 1930s.

World War One is covered in depth and tells the story of the players past and present who served; the club sadly lost twelve players during the conflict.

There are again match fixing scandals, and it covers the purchase of Blundell Park, F.A. Cup semi-finals and the story of how Grimsby firmly established itself at the top table.

Grimsby Town were the best run team in the country from the mid 1920's and gained a formidable reputation under the astute leadership of Wilf Gillow and later Frank Womack. The book concludes at the end of the first season of World War Two as Grimsby battled on despite difficult circumstances and air raids!

The reserves are also covered in-depth with all matches included, and goal scorers are given for competitive matches. All statistics have been verified from earlier works and corrected where applicable.
