Gainsborough Trinity Who's Who – The Football League Years 1896 to 1912

Gainsborough Trinity FC was established in 1873 and have played on the same ground, Northolme, since 1888. Until 2018, the club had the unusual record of 'never relegated', though it should be noted that they have changed leagues on several occasions. One of these changes took them from the Midland League to the Football League Division Two in 1896 where they were a fixture for until 1912, when they were voted out, rejoining the Midland League. Trinity currently play in the Northern Premier League.

In this book, Gary Parle describes the ups and downs of the life of a small club in the Football League while co-author, Garth Dykes, has contributed detailed biographies of all the players used in the club's Football League years. Garth is an acknowledged expert on Football League players prior to 1950. His published work has covered clubs from the very large (Manchester United) to the very small (Colne). Published in 2026.
