The History of Women's Football

A complete history of British women's football from its Victorian beginnings in 1881 through to the plans for England to host the Euro Finals during 2022. The book demonstrates how the women's game surprisingly began as a professional sport, but has only recently returned to these roots in the UK due in great part to the F.A.'s 50 year ban on women playing on affiliated pitches, a move followed by the other British associations. The book follows those who defied the ban and worked to get it overturned following the formation of the Women's Football Association in 1969. Published in 2021.
