A fascinating biography of Tommy Tynan, the former striker who played for a number of clubs during a long career, most notably Sheffield Wednesday, Newport County and Plymouth Argyle, making over 600 appearances and scoring over 250 goals in the process. Tynan's career was notable in that it began when he was signed as an apprentice by Liverpool FC after winning a newspaper competition called, Search for a Soccer-Star, although he never made an appearance for the club itself.
