Barton's Army – Conquering Europe with Aston Villa

Winning the European Cup in 1982 is, without a doubt, the finest hour in Aston Villa's illustrious history. There was no invited 'Super League' nonsense in those days. To become the Champions of Europe, Villa had to be the Champions of England… Real Champions playing other Real Champions. So, to many Villa supporters, 26th May 1982 was the most special, most important, time in their lives.

This book, compiled by respected club author Colin Abbott,  is crammed full of the stories, photographs and recollections from Villa fans who shared that historical European triumph – not only by roaring their team on under the Villa Park floodlights – but also by those who made life-defining trips to the far corners of the continent, which culminated in that mystical day in Rotterdam when over 12,000 Villans made the pilgrimage to Holland.
